About sugar

There’s no sugar added on its own. Each bar has 11-14g of total sugars, and 5-6g of that counts as added sugar on the label. It comes from brown rice syrup and tapioca fiber syrup, plus the small amount of sugar in the sunflower seed butter and dried cherries. The rest comes from dates and fruit. No stevia, sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners.

About our natural flavors

The natural flavors we use are:

  • Mocha: espresso
  • Tropical: mango
  • Banana: banana bread flavor
  • Berry: raspberry and blueberry

When I was developing the recipes, I was skeptical of natural flavors too. But without them the bars tasted really bland. So I checked with our flavor supplier, and they confirmed each one comes from natural sources. Happy to share more, just email me at ruben@glovecrafted.com.

Allergens

Made without the Top 9 allergens as ingredients. That means no peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, or sesame ingredients.

Review the complete label and our manufacturing information before purchasing if you manage a food allergy.

Our bars contain pea protein. Peas are legumes, like peanuts and soy, and some people with a peanut or legume allergy also react to pea. If you have a legume allergy, please talk to your allergist before trying them.

Our bars are made without the top 9 allergens as ingredients, but they are not produced in a dedicated top-9-allergen-free facility. Our production partner does handle some allergens in the facility, including peanuts. They have confirmed that they do not handle wheat, fish, or shellfish, but other allergens may be present in the facility. Because of this, if someone requires products made in a dedicated peanut-free or dedicated top-9-allergen-free facility, Glove Crafted may not be the right fit.

How our production partner controls cross-contact

  • Allergenic ingredients are stored separately, and production is scheduled by allergen.
  • Equipment is cleaned and sanitized between changeovers, then checked with ATP testing (a cleanliness check, not an allergen test).
  • Specific allergen tests can be done on request.

Read the full process

Our production partner is required to follow allergen preventive controls and sanitation procedures designed to prevent and minimize allergen cross-contact.

Their allergen program includes separate storage of allergenic ingredients, production scheduling based on allergens, equipment cleaning and sanitation between changeovers, allergen cleanup procedures, labeling controls, and employee hygiene/PPE steps when moving between workstations.

They also use ATP testing after sanitation. In simple terms, ATP testing is a cleanliness check used to detect whether organic residue may still be present on equipment or surfaces after cleaning. If the equipment does not receive a clean/acceptable reading, it is cleaned again and retested before moving forward.

ATP testing is a sanitation verification step, but it is not the same as testing for a specific allergen. Specific allergen tests can be performed when requested, and we are happy to discuss that option if documentation is needed.
